As I am a new woodworking, I can’t really tell you yet much about what tools or styles I favor.
But, if I were to venture a guess, here’s what I’d say so far. I am very drawn to the Arts and Crafts, Mission, Craftsman style. It is a very simple and clean style. Not overly ornate, but it looks good. But that’s just me.
As for tools, I think I will favor hand tools. I currently have a table saw and a planer. The only current plan I have in the power tool department is a router, maybe a bandsaw, and maybe a drill press. Other than that, I want to get a hold of hand planes, scrapers and hand saws. Why? There’s just something cool about using a plane that is older than me and still works exactly as it was intended. Call me crazy.
